Off Line Installer that will install to Program Files / (Beta Version) Or…  Standard one user download page / (Beta Version) In the above links I simply added the following to control the type of installer we get…
  • “&standalone=1” – for the off-line installer
  • “&system=true” – for the install to the Program Files instead of the Application Data folder (Why would anyone install a legitimate program there?)
  • “&extra=betachannel” – for the beta version (Extra features but not totally stable)
In the above you want to replace the “&” ampersand with a “?” for the first argument, for example: “…e/eula.html?extra=betachannel” Google Chrome Backup This tool (Google Chrome Backup) is used to backup the google chrome profile and can also be used to transfer it to another computer.  Or you can just copy the “Default” folder in Vista/Win7: “%LOCALAPPDATA%GoogleChromeUser Data”  or WinXP: “%USERPROFILE%Local SettingsApplication”

Other good tweaks to make….

 If you want to close a few big security holes then disable Java.  Note that this will stop a lot of on line games from working.  Here are directions on how to disable Java.
